Daylilies For The Coast

Due to a lack of Winter chill south of Santa Barbara the most popular daylilies in the world, 'Stella de Oro, Pardon Me, & 'Happy Returns usually fail. Cool, humid nights near the coast can contribute to problems with daylily rust, Puccinia hemerocalloides, which is unsightly but rarely fatal. The varieties in this presentation resist rust and are adapted to coastal conditions, including wind, salt sea air and little frost.
