Common name: Iceberg Floribunda Rose
Botanical name: Rosa 'Iceberg'

This is a shrub rose (there are climbing varieties) with an abundance of fragrant, medium sized, white blooms. It is one of the most popular roses and very tough.

Firewheel Tree

Common name: Firewheel Tree
Botanical name: Stenocarpus sinuatus

This evergreen tree will grow about 30' tall and 15' wide. It has shiny, deep green leaves with clusters of scarlet and yellow flowers that resemble the spokes of a wheel and bloom best in the fall. Tree may not bloom for several years but is well worth waiting for. It prefers rich, well draining, acid soil. This tree can be grown indoors in a container for several years. Magenta-Eyed Geranium

Common name: Magenta-Eyed Geranium
Botanical name: Geranium maderense

This is one of the most dramatic perennials of the garden. It does best in coastal areas, from full sun to part shade. It grows up to 5' tall and wide. Foliage is lobed, large, dark green and attractive. During the spring and sometimes summer, pink flowers with darker pink centers cover the plant. Flowers are supported on stems covered with purple hairs. This geranium is a show stopper when back lit! Prune when plant is toppling over from its weight, after bloom period. It does best in fertile, well draining soil. It can become drought tolerant in cool coastal areas.

Orange Clock Vine

Botanical name: Thunbergia gregorii

This trailing evergreen vine produces large, clear orange flowers from spring through fall. It must be protected from frost and should be grown in areas of sun to part shade.

Fountain Grass

Common name: Fountain Grass
Botanical name: Pennisetum alopecuroides

Pennisetum alopecuroides is a perennial grass. Bright green, 3'-4' tall foliage clumps are topped by pinkish plumes in early summer. Leaves turn yellow in fall and brown in winter. Tall grasses are highly combustible.
