The star jasmine needs regular watering. Leaves are dark green, oval, thick, about 2" long. This is a great plant on a trellis, in containers or in a parking strip. Another name: Maile Haole

European White Birch

Common name: European White Birch
Botanical name: Betula pendula

This medium-size weeping tree will grow to about 40' tall and has a whitish/brown bark with deciduous green leaves. Additional Names: Betula verrucosa, White Birch

Bush or Dome Euphorbia

Common name: Bush or Dome Euphorbia
Botanical name: Euphorbia characias

This perennial will reach about 4' tall and wide with a rounded shape. It has blue green leaves with lime green flowers (actually bracts) that bloom from late winter to early spring. When bracts turn yellow, it's time to prune them. Make sure you wear gloves when pruning as plant exudes sap that could cause allergic reaction. This plant does well in full sun and is drought tolerant once it's established. It does spread through saplings but it can easily be controlled.

Red Yucca

Common name: Red Yucca
Botanical name: Hesperaloe parviflora

This spectacular succulent grows to 3'-4' tall and wide. Blue green leaves are strap-like, leathery, long, with white fraying fibers on the edges. During the summer, dark pink flowers are seen on red flower arching stalks. Hummingbirds love these flowers. This evergreen plant is drought tolerant once it's established but will appreciate extra water during the summer to promote blooms. Plant in full sun or light shade, with well draining soil. Deer like the foliage. This plant looks great in pots.
