This Weeping Willow is a rapid-growing, medium-sized, deciduous tree with long, graceful, drooping branches. Its leaves are long, narrow and bright green in color.

Royal Trumpet Vine, River's Trumpet

Botanical name: Distictis 'Rivers'

The Royal Trumpet Vine is a very vigorous vine, climbing to 30' tall and wide. Rosy lavender flowers bloom in spring and summer. These blooms have yellow throats and fade to pink as they age. Its foliage is lighter green and glossier than the Blood Red Trumpet Vine, its closest relative, are leathery and have tendrils for climbing. The vine does best in full to part sun with regular watering and more during the summer. Flowers attract hummingbirds.

The Coast Live Oak is an evergreen, round-headed tree with regal bearing. It can reach 25'-80' high and 25-40' wide and grows very well from the coastal areas to the interior valleys. Strong herculean branches adorn mature trees casting much appreciated summer shade. It attracts wildlife in droves.

Tree Peony is a woody deciduous shrub native to China. It has exceptionally large flowers that bloom in mid spring. The flowers are 6" to 12" in diameter. It is moderately slow growing, reaching 4'-6' in height in a ten year period. Tree Peony requires well-drained, loam soil with a ph range of 6.5-7. Plant in part sun to allow flowers to bloom for longer periods (up to 2 weeks). In fall, clean up leaves to prevent overwintering of botrytis.

Bigleaf Maple

Botanical name: Acer macrophyllum

This fast-growing deciduous tree grows to 90 feet in height with a 45' spread. It is a coastal and inland native which flourishes on north facing slopes. It has very large leaves, 6-15 in. wide, sometimes the size of dinner plates, that offer spectacular yellow fall color in cool areas. It is found in streambanks and watershed canyons and should only be used in areas that are naturally moist.

California Coffeeberry

The California Coffeeberry is an evergreen shrub that reaches 6'-8' high and 10' wide. It has a rounded form that can be pruned to your liking. Foliage is large, deep green with reddish tints. Flowers are considered inconspicuous. It has red berries that turn black in late summer, which attracts birds. The berries have seeds which resemble coffee beans! This shrub tolerates sun or partial shade in all soil types. This CA native is drought tolerant once it's established. This shrub also attract butterflies and bees.
