Common name: Norfolk Island Pine
Botanical name: Araucaria heterophylla

This very large tree will grow to about 100' tall and 60' wide with narrow, sharp leaves that are a deep, dark green. It is a popular Christmas tree in Hawaii. It is a good indoor plant with sunny exposures. Also known as Star Pine.

The evergreen leaves of this species are 4" in length, narrow, aromatic, dark green and sticky. Its white flowers are 3" in diameter with yellow centers, blooming in spring. It is rather tough and is resistant of minor neglect. Plant in full sun with well draining soil. It is drought tolerant once it's established. Deer stay away from this shrub. It is tolerant of coastal conditions. It can reach 8' tall and 5' wide.

A clumping evergreen bulb, this Kafir Lily produces long, strapped-shaped leaves. Deep orange to red orange, funnel-shaped flowers appear above foliage in late winter and spring. Red berries appear after bloom period. It tolerates deep shade to half sun. The plant requires frost protection. It performs well in containers. Bulbs will spread and do well when crowded.

This groundcover will grow 1'-3' tall and wide. It felt-look, silvery gray, small leaves that densely cover the plant. Because it has a trailing habit, this plant looks great in hanging baskets and containers. It does well in full sun and dry, well draining soil. It is grown for foliage, not flowers which are considered insignificant. Established plants are drought tolerant. Be careful not to overwater.
