Calla Lily

Common name: Calla Lily
Botanical name: Zantedeschia aethiopica

This perennial will grow 2'-4' tall and has large, glossy green leaves with beautiful cream or white flowers with a central yellow "finger" that bloom in spring and sometimes even summer. Calla Lily prefers full sun or afternoon shade in warm, inland areas. It prefers rich, moist soil and does well near water features or boggy conditions. Cally Lily is beautiful for cut flowers.

Waxleaf Privet

Botanical name: Ligustrum japonicum 'Texanum'

This dense, evergreen shrub reaches 6'-8' tall and 4'-6' wide. Waxleaf Privet has dark green, leathery, evergreen leaves that make a great privacy hedge. White fragrant flowers bloom in spring and summer. Bees love these flowers! Blue black berries follow bloom season. Part of this shrub may be poisonous if ingested. It prefers full sun to light shade with a medium amount of watering, more in hot summer months.

African Fern Pine

Soft, narrow, pointed. linear, dark green leaves on graceful arching branches characterize this tree. Afrocarpus can be used as an individual specimen, screen, or hedge or even in a container or espaliered. African Fern Pine can reach 60' tall and 20' wide. It is clean (no messy litter) and mostly pest free so it's used on streets, lawns, patios, or gardens. Plant in full or part sun; it needs medium amount of watering. Branch ends have fleshy yellow fruit which age to blue purple.

Eureka Lemon

This popular lemon tree can grow to 20' tall and wide. It does best in full sun with well draining, fertile soil. It needs watering at least twice a week and more during hot spells. Fertilize with citrus food three times a year. This tree produces bright yellow lemons almost all year round. The lemons have a high juice and acid content and are nearly seedless. Birds love lemons too. Evergreen leaves are apple green colored but new growth is bronzy colored. White fragrant flowers bloom intermittently. This tree can be grown in containers.
