African Fern Pine

Common name: African Fern Pine
Botanical name: Afrocarpus gracilior

Soft, narrow, pointed. linear, dark green leaves on graceful arching branches characterize this tree. Afrocarpus can be used as an individual specimen, screen, or hedge or even in a container or espaliered. African Fern Pine can reach 60' tall and 20' wide. It is clean (no messy litter) and mostly pest free so it's used on streets, lawns, patios, or gardens. Plant in full or part sun; it needs medium amount of watering. Branch ends have fleshy yellow fruit which age to blue purple.

Alphonse Karr Bamboo

Common name: Alphonse Karr Bamboo
Botanical name: Bambusa multiplex 'Alphonse Karr'

This bamboo will grow to 35' and makes a wonderful container plant. The culms are golden and green striped, and the gold gets a magenta tint when exposed to bright sunlight. This plant does best in full to part sun. It need regular watering and more during hot spells. Roots are not invasive.

Roses do best in full sun although some varieties will tolerate afternoon shade. They prefer well draining, fertile soil. Medium watering and more during hot summer months.
