The California Pepper is a fast growing evergreen tree that will mature to a height of 25'-40' and as wide. Its bright green leaves are divided into many narrow, 1.5"-2" long leaflets.

All are irresistible to hummingbirds with their showy flowers and heavy nectar production. They will take sun to moderately deep shade and little or no summer watering in coastal areas. They should be given more shade and water in hotter, drier climates. They make an excellent plant for containers.

Aeonium arboreum 'Zwartkop' is a succulent perennial that is used for accenting effect. Aeonium arboreum grows 3' tall and wide. Each branch has a 6"-8 " wide rosette of dark green, fleshy leaves.The flowers are yellow in clusters.

This perennial will grow less than 1' tall and 1.5' wide; slow growing. It has dark green, leathery, evergreen leaves with flowers that are white colored with a tinge of pink that bloom in winter and spring. It prefers partial shade and would really like to be planted under a deciduous tree so it can receive sun during the summer. It needs to be protected from wind. Plant in fertile, well draining, moist soil. Use generous amount of compost for planting and for refreshing during spring. Roots, leaves and stems are poisonous.
